Jcse Military - Tactical Network Transport-At The Halt (TNT-ATH) enables mission command and robust voice, video and data communications for global data exchange from anywhere on the planet. It uses a combination of both line-of-sight (radio) and out-of-line-of-sight (satellite/troposphere) communication nodes for multi-path versatility and survivability in combat environments.

This robust network communications system operates at the seat and provides a real-time joint operational picture to enable commanders to make informed decisions quickly. To support evolving network requirements and enhance the readiness of current operational forces, the Army continues to modernize TNT-ATH capabilities, increasing mobility, computing power and interoperability, while optimizing and increasing bandwidth and resilience in residual and combat environments.

This refreshed modular ATH network baseband solution will provide more computing power; reduce size, weight and power (SWaP) and equipment setup time to improve mobility; while increasing usability, network resilience and equipment flexibility and extended service life.

After a successful pilot of NITE prototype units that used Soldier feedback to inform design and field decisions, the PM Tactical Network delivered NITE to the first units in 4QFY21. The modular NITE solution provides a more than 200 percent increase in computing power while reducing SWaP setup time and equipment to improve mobility.

The equipment is also easier to operate and maintain. These benefits are derived from commercial hardware, software and new virtualization technologies. The new modular equipment will be used in transit cases with tow handles and wheels, improving the current shelter solution, increasing maneuverability, uniformity in the TNT-ATH portfolio and operational flexibility.

NITE also reduces system power requirements, allowing the use of vehicle power for short-term stop-and-go operations. Soldiers can simply pull over to the side of the road during a moving convoy or command post and quickly power up their Command Post Node (CPN) using vehicle power and cables, as opposed to providing a separate generator.
